Stephanie Faracy

American actress Stephanie Faracy was born January 1, 1952. Her supporting roles include the following: Heaven Can Wait (1978), Scavenger Hunt (79), Blind Date (1987), The Great Outdoors(88), Hocus Pocus) (1993), Sideways (2004) and Flightplan (2005). She also appeared in Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (2016). Faracy was a leading role in several short-lived sitcoms including True Colors (1990-92).

Career and life

Faracy was born in Brooklyn in New York, but she was raised in Elk Grove Village in Illinois, where she attended highschool. Faracy studied acting at Yale School of Drama and Illinois Wesleyan University. ] She started her acting career on the New York Stage and made her TV debut in 1976 in an episode of ABC’s sitcom Laverne & Shirley.

After appearing in two unsold sitcom pilots she starred in, Faracy was cast as Corinne in the 1978 comedy movie Heaven Can Wait. Faracy was also a star in Columbia Pictures’ drama When You Comin’ back, Red Ryder? and Babbette in 20th Century Fox’s ensemble comedy Scavenger Hunt the following year. 

Stephanie faracy has had a long and successful career in television. She starred from 1979 to 1980 in the CBS sitcom The Last Resort. From 1983 to 1984, she starred with Bill Bixby, Mariette Hartley, and the other CBS sitcom, Goodnight, Beantown. Stephanie faracy also starred in miniseries during the 1980s. These included The Thorn Birds (1983), as Mary Carson’s servant Judy, Space (1985) and Windmills of the Gods (88). She starred in the 1987 romantic comedy Blind Date with Bruce Willis and Kim Basinger, and in the comedy The Great Outdoors, the year following, as John Candy’s wife.

Faracy starred with Martin Mull on the short-lived NBC sitcom His & Hers in 1990. She was cast in True Colors, a Fox sitcom about interracial marriages, later that year. Frankie Faison (season 1), Cleavon Small (season 2), and Nancy Walker (season three) died in 1992. 

Faracy continued her acting career in supporting roles both on television and film over the years. Faracy was a guest star on Touched by an Angel and Wings. She starred in the Lifetime comedy-drama Devious Maids, where she was a regular role. Notable film roles include Sideways (2004), as Sandra Oh’s mom, and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (2016) for Zac Efron.
